Triumph

So I finally linked all of Mosiah to this blog. It feels good. I love how doing this project has made me look closer at nature and made me a better reader. So many benefits have arisen.

The end

So we were in St. George for the weekend to see Abby perform her last shows for band and I was able to get in a few chapters which is good because I have almost run out of places here to do it. It was sure a fun trip and the band worked really hard.

Anniversaries

So here we are I started this project one year ago. I'm not done but I hope it does not take another year to finish I am mid Alma. Also my own wedding anniversary is tomorrow. I did not even realize that was the case. I may not be doing my chapter a day but when I do a chapter now I am really trying to make it the best I can.

The Happiest Place on Earth

One thing I really like is taking this project on the road with me. I was able to do a few chapters in Florida as I was there on business with Casey. Luckily you cannot feel the humidity through the camera lens.

Dead presidents and cameras

We just got back from our trip to South Dakota. It was a way fun trip and I was able to do two or three chapters. I wish I had been brave enough to film one at Mt. Rushmore as I do not know when I will be back there again. There were so many people and it was very windy. Alas my fine red camera finally gave up the ghost. I hope that I will still be able to use the film I take on Casey's camera. It will take some getting use to but so far it has worked out.

Crayons and 100 dollar bills

I was at one of my old elementary schools yesterday. Woodruff was a good school. I went on the year round schedule there for fifth grade. The outside of the school has these cool crayon pillars everywhere. The school it's self has some great architecture that I doubt I fully appreciated when I went there. The library was open for summer so I was able to go in and look around. I wanted to get a picture of the hundred dollar bill that was in the hallway but I could not find it anywhere. The school has many classroom windows made of those glass blocks and when they built the school a construction worker placed a hundred dollar bill in one of them. I remember many a recess staring at it and plotting how I would get it out and what I would spend it on. I guess when they put in the new gym they got rid of it. A lot of memories came flooding back to me as I walked the halls.

Finding the flock

A cool thing happened yesterday. I have come to the part of Alma were we meet Ammon and he is on his mission to teach the Lamonites. Well it just so happens that there is a field that has a herd of sheep in it with adorable lambs that I have wanted to film. So as Ammon is guarding Lamoni's sheep you get to watch them bleat and run. The Lord is trully blessing me as I take on this project!

Spring has Sprung!

I have been really enjoying stopping to literally smell the roses. I have filmed all the buds as they bloom and the trees and bushes. I only wish I could bottle the smell. This is my most favorite time of year.

the work progresses, slowly

The other day I was up at the Wittier center where they have a very cool park that looks like a castle. When you are up inside you have this great view of the temple. Sadly I have been slacking on the amount of work I have been putting into this project lately. I am still in Alma and I will try to do better.

I thought it was winter...

One day we have snow the next we don't and it goes on and on. I have really been experimenting with different types of textures and vantage points, it has been a lot of fun. I am so happy to be in Alma!

work I hardly knew you...

This week I went over to the building complex I use to work in. There is a very cool pond in between all the buildings there that I filmed most of the chapter in. I use to eat over there or just waste a little time before work. I will have to go back in the spring when the lily pads bloom because it is so very pretty. This is now were most of my nieces go to school so it is all the more special to me.

Flooded

So we have been having lots of severe rain lately and it has really messed up the roads and ditches not to mention the basement. I am told it has not been this bad since 1985. Well it's documented in here now. I am trying to juggle doing this with my workouts and all the other things going on. In other words I need to step it up.

Red Rocks and Old Friends

I knew that I was going to go out of town for the weekend so I committed to still doing chapters and I was able to get two done. I always forget how bright and fabulous the rocks of St. George are! I had such a great time visiting there instead of just driving through. To see my friend and catch up it was just a most amazing trip.

almost tragic day

It was a saturday and it had just snowed. I was walking down the street to the old church enjoying the fresh snow as I filmed. I got these awesome gloves for Christmas that let you still interact with touch screens when you wear them and I underestimated how slippery they were. Well I dropped my camera while it was on. When I opened it up the SD card had slipped and after putting it in I could not get it to work I was about to cry. I took a breath reinserted the battery and forced the lens screen to close as best I could and it worked again! I was able to complete the chapter. So far it still works if not being a little choppy when it zooms. We do have another camera if it gives up so it will all keep moving forward.

Sweet Moments in Time

I am trying to do some catching up so I did two chapters today. The weather has been nice and accommodating. The first I did at this real cool constructed chapel behind the fabric store. I have never been to a meeting in this chapel that I know of but I love the windows, design and sweet steeple. As I drove to my next location, the chapel of my friends wedding reception, I scoped out a few other places that would be good to visit next. I realized that there are many places in the valley that have two churches within a block or two of each other. It's an awesome thing to ponder.
